Fabulous authentic vintage gown, perfect for a Downton Abbey soiree , or Great Gatsby affair.
Comprised of black silk burnout velvet with large flowers that really stand out on the sheer silk chiffon. Inside is a solid silk attached slip, with a flesh tone lace top and a sheer bottom hem. It is bias cut from the hip down.
The sleeves are somewhat full, and the dress has no openings, so basically a slip over. Im showing it on a size 12 mannequin.
It's in GREAT condition, with a few small flaws: under one sleeve in the armpit, that will need repair. The inner slip has very light underarm staining. Here and there, there are a few tiny wears in the silk, but they aren't noticeable.
Otherwise the silk is strong, though with that said, I cannot guarantee how long it will hold up.It's clean, and I didn't send to cleaners. Price reflects.
Label is " Blackshire".
This came directly from a cedar chest, it was stored for over 80 years!
Note on measurements: if you are modern size 12 or under , it should fit like it does on the mannequin.
